用AR認識英語繪本~活動簡介

大豐國小「小書蟲尋寶趣」活動簡介

    本校的圖書館英文繪本區有許多有趣的英文繪本，但這些書總是不會吸引孩子們翻閱，更不用說借閱了。這種情況，對才剛剛努力幫孩子們選購一批英文書的我們來說，十分挫折、也非常傷腦筋。這當下，Kid’s Read的專案卻補助了學校81本精挑細選的英文繪本……

    該如何引起學生對「英文繪本」的興趣，願意在英文繪本區駐足停留，認識它們，甚至翻翻這些書、欣賞繪本裡有趣的圖畫呢？

    於是，我們利用時下最流行的AR技術，讓學生們倆倆一組，化身為充滿好奇心的小書蟲，拿著圖書館的31台平板電腦，到81本英文繪本展示區，用平板螢幕對準每本英文書封面，如果電腦上浮現的圖案恰巧和學習的題目圖案一樣，小書蟲們就是找到寶物了！必須合作將書名寫在學習單上喔！

    找到五個寶物之後，小書蟲們還必須輕聲討論，想想剛才的英文繪本相見歡活動中，最喜歡哪一本書？最想深入了解哪一本書的內容？並寫出原因。

    我們利用兩週的時間，讓全校61個班級輪流到圖書館進行這個活動。過程中可以見到孩子們的驚喜與歡笑，更藉由學習單的內容，讓低、中、高年級的孩子們都認識了這81本圖畫有趣、色彩豐富的英文繪本。最後，我們將在兒童朝會時間，針對書寫完整的學習單進行全校大抽獎，並且在穿堂的大電視持續播放81本英文書的封面喔！

    相信大豐的孩子們經過這次小書蟲尋寶活動後，對81本英文繪本有了初步的認識與興趣，也期待英語老師們能進一步帶領孩子們了解書的內容，讓「英文繪本」與孩子不再有距離！

To promote the books and increase kids’ reading, we designed the activity called ”Treasure Hunt of Little Book Worms”. With nowadays popular AR techniques and tablets, students are paired up as little book worms. They can scan the covers of the books to match the target pictures they find in the library showroom. After the “treasures” are found, students collaborate and finish the worksheets together. After treasure hunting, all the little book worms discuss what their favorite books are and why they like them.

For two weeks, sixty-one classes take turns going to the library to join the activity. By working on the well-designed worksheets, students have the opportunity to know what the eighty-one English picture books are. As a closing ceremony of “Treasure Hunt of Little Book Worms”, a lot-drawing activity will be held on the students’ morning congregation. Those who finish the worksheets perfectly will have the chance to win the prizes. More than that, covers of the eighty-one English picture books will be shown on the big screen in the hallway of the school campus. It is for everyone stepping into the school to have a glance at the picture books.

This project successfully arouses the kid’s interest in these picture books. More reading activities will be conducted in the classrooms by teachers. We look forward to seeing the amazing reading sparkles from our kids.
